You'll find me by the window

HardyGirl is quite a nature lover. I have a window seat next to my bedroom window so the cats can look out over the street from the third floor.  It has quickly become her domain.  I will wake up in the middle of the night and see her sleeping on the seat.  It makes her happy.

A couple of people have asked if I'm keeping her.  The answer is that she's got a home until her real home comes along. As much as I love HG, and I do, she's not my cat.  It's hard to explain but I know her people are out there and I'm not it.  She is everything anyone could want in a pet.  Funny, sweet, smart, no trouble, mischevious, all those things and more.  I suspect she would be great with kids and dogs and eventually other cats.  She and my cat have reached something of a truce although I did have to wake up at 3am to stop them fighting over a Bic pen cap. There are 50 toys around the house but that's the coveted item right now.

Contact me if you know anyone who might be interested in this sweet girl.   She's wonderful.

Peek-a-boo!

HardyGirl seems to like peeking out from behind things.  The top photo is one from a Washington Humane Society photo shoot for fosters.  She immediate ran behind the backdrop and peeped around the side.

HardyGirl is pretty funny now that she's settling in.  In this picture, she climbed behind my chair onto a storage box and just sat there for awhile, reading over my shoulder.  Not sure what she was looking for but it made her happy.

One thing I've just realized I was wrong about.  The shelter said she really didn't get along with other cats.  After about a month here, I realized that she must have been super-stressed at the shelter.  HG has very little problem with my cat.  There's a little hissing but other than that, they pretty much ignore each other.  I'll even admit that my cat, Sassafras, is the instigator most of the time.  If HG was around a calmer cat, I think she would not be fussed at all.

So, if you're looking for a second cat, let me know!  HG would be good as an only kitty or as a second companion.

HG also loves toys.  I'll have to try to get video of her playing.
